If hearing loss makes speaking on the phone difficult, no-cost equipment from ABHF can help you improve speech understanding by 50-80%. Offering hands-free conversations, Voicing Caller ID, remote answer capabilities, music management, and amplification.

Hear Better In Person

Similar to hearing aides, personal sound amplifiers provide both sound shaping and amplification. Daily personal face-to-face conversations are no longer a struggle. Multiple programs and multiple amplification levels improve listening in a variety of situations.

If you suspect hearing loss, it is important that you seek help immediately. Medical research has shown that senior citizens with untreated hearing loss have:

-A 500% higher probability of developing dementia or Alzheimer’s.
-A 500% higher probability of developing dementia or Alzheimer’s.
-A 300% higher probability of falling.
-A 52% higher probability of being hospitalized.
-A significantly higher probability of developing loneliness.
-Much higher probabilities for depression, paranoia, anxiety, and antisocial behaviors.

How does the ABHF help me with the TEPP co-payment?

When you work with the ABHF to complete your application and process your $800+ voucher, ABHF will cover the cost of the $100 co-pay and will provide assistance in processing all paperwork, choosing the product solutions and delivering these products to you.

What is TEPP?

The Telecommunications Equipment Purchase Program (TEPP) helps people with disabilities buy specialized equipment they need in order to use basic telephone services. To apply for a TEPP voucher online, use our revised online application below. If you are unable to use the online application, you can print the application form provided in pdf format and mail to the address on the form.

What if you cannot afford the TEPP co-pay?

TEPP vouchers avalued at $800 and over require a $100 co-pay from the applicant. However, the ABHF, (a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization) has developed a fund available to WI residents that covers the $100 co-pay required by the State of WI.

What is the Wisconsin Telecommunications Equipment Purchase Program (TEPP)?

The Telecommunications Equipment Purchase Program (TEPP) is a program created to help people with disabilities buy specialized equipment they need in order to use basic telephone services. The TEPP is one of several different programs paid for by the Wisconsin Universal Service Fund (USF) established by the Public Service Commission. Money collected from Wisconsin telephone service providers goes into the USF.

How do you qualify for TEPP equipment?

As a WI resident, you simply complete an application. The WI Public Service Commission processes the application and sends a Voucher redeemable for products. The value of the voucher depends on the category of need chosen by the applicant.
